When you join the lobby your classpect is overwritten with your friends character classpect, it usually happens when you allready played with that player.
Step zero - play the game in multiplayer
Step one - be a host of lobby
Step two - your friend joins you
Step three - you get the classpect of your friend, while on the screen of friend he has the same classpect. Its not a visual bug.

Interesting bug, should be somewhat easily solved too
