I picked up extra sylladex cards from pre-placed blue packages, filled the inventory to confirm how many items could fit, then pressed the 'EJECT' button, and selected the same modus (array). I attempted to pick up the dropped items, and could only pick up 4 before inventory was full.

I thought it was a feature honestly, but it would be nice if it didn't reset.
