Description The Genesis Project 2022-08-22 15:16:18 CEST
The results are that the builder loses function, with the loss of function getting worse over time. Other players appear to have their layers arranged strangely, often resulting in their heads looking like they're backwards on their bodies. Meanwhile, the other players report my character either being fully invisible, being partially invisible (ex. my hair can be seen, but nothing else), or my character's layers being arranged strangely. My character can no longer attack by this point, and enemies don't notice her. I can still interact with items. Death results in the game soft-locking and the grim reaper not showing up. The first sign that this glitch has started seems to be when the Alchemiter no longer works.

The most extreme variant I got was when my player was at the client's house and attempted to build (using an electronic lab coat if that matters) an extension to the roof to place some storage chests. Meanwhile, the client was fighting monsters and collecting grist on a planet. I noticed that the game seemed to lag a bit while the client collected grist and I was actively building.

The end result is the UI completely disappeared after I left build mode. The esc key, which normally does something, did nothing. Attempting to leave the property via a portal left my character floating in the air by the portal, unable to drop to the ground. Using the /homer command put me in a black void (containing invisible walls and invisible enemies) with another gate visible in the background.

Making my way to this gate sent me to a grey void (I think the gate sent me to another planet), where nothing I did affected anything (my character appeared frozen in place). Nothing seemed to do anything. Attempting to enter build mode again via the command left only the chat box available, which still worked throughout all of this, but even minimizing the chat box left it still visible on the screen. The exile's speech bubbles showed up and no longer cleared from the screen, resulting in one of the most visually interesting soft-locks I seen in a while. Eventually, my client and the only other person in the session reached the lich queen and her health bar and title showed up. The lich queen's health bar stayed on screen even after her death.

I think this glitch has something to do with the game desynchronizing, but that is all that I got on it. My character was also using the robot skin, but I have idea if that's related to this glitch or not.

(Yes, most of this report was copied and pasted from my post on Steam, where I also posted this glitch. I also publicly posted a screenshot of what the extreme version of this glitch looked like as well, but I have few other screenshots from before that point if you'd like to see them. The only mods either player had in that session were either custom symbols, a custom house, and a modded Atheneum for house building mode.)
